and a „different“ kind of Artwork
Every two weeks the Artsville Canvas & Chill Lounge invites to a special ArtShowCase! I was honored to be a part of the 8th edition, featuring overall 4 talented Second Life Artist I. I am showing you some impressions of the Lounge and Artsville itself today. join their FB-Group and visit inworld!
Overview
Artsville itself is hosted and curated by Frank Attiso and Jerzzie Reece-Redstar and opened its doors in September 2022 and covers a half region. This location currently (as of Sept. 2024) holds 3 single Galleries on the groud and 3 Art Installations/Exhibtions ini the sky.
At the Landingpoint you find a teleporter to visit all the interesting spots.
Here I’ll show you some impressions of actual and past exhibitons / installations – but today I want to focus on the Canvas & Chill Lounge ArtShowCase, where I was invited to exhibit one of my pictures.
Canvas & Chill Lounge – ArtShowCase
The first event of the Canvas & Chill Lounge took place on July 12th 2024 and was a great success. A lot party and art interested visitors joinend and since then every 2nd and 4th Friday a new event with 4 different artists takes place. Every event is special and themed. The surrounding is modern, a little spacy and futuristic, but not overwhelmed with decoration. Its focus in at the important parts. So are the tunes played during the events. House, deep House, some Trance content – mostly spheric, futuristic, electronic and minimalistic tunes you will hear here – and this suits perfectly to the venue!
I♥events.online published a nice write-up here – read through it!
Lately I was invited to so display a picture of mine and I am very happy and honored for the invite! The event took place on Friday, Sept. 27th 2024 and I will show you some impressions and my (a little bit special) artwork here.
Beside the beautiful location and people dancing and having fun, I want to show you some different impressions of my artwork shown. As already mentioned its made of PBR Materials. (If you want to learn more, here is a great article about!) Physical Based Rendering provides a more accurate option how lights will interact with the different layers used. This mean, you not only have one texture you use for your artwork, but even more layers that show e.g. gloss, metals, roughness.
For someone who doesn’t work with Blender, Photoshop or else, it was not easy to create such layers! After a good hint of Tom to use the free tool „Quixel Mixer“ and some try ’n error sessions, I made it to the first PBR material showing my artwork in a different style! Yay! It now looks more metallic, has more deepth on single parts and with every camera roll you can see varities in the shading. Here comes the BUT: you have to use a PBR enabled viewer and in best case PBR EEP’s (Environment Enhancement Project) – the EEP changes the inworld windlight and features the highly graphic details of PBR materials.
Now I am showing you some varities using different EEP’s – you can see the picture in the gallery above while using no PBR EEP.
For all my pictures and videos I am using the Black Dragon Viewer. The Pictures / Videos I show you here, are not or just lightly edited. You can see the different looks and light reflections of the artwork clearly. My favourite EEP’s are currently those created by Specter Skies – Syd Specter offers a great varity of PBR and non-PBR EEPs for a very fair price! Also she stays up-to-date and regularly provides new stuff. At her mainstore (TP here!) she lately opend a cozy venue called „Soulscape“ where you can hang out and listen to chilling tunes from time to time. Take a visit and enjoy your time!
Finally…
I would like shout out a huge „thank you“ to Jerzzie and Frank, hosting this Space of art (and Music) and of course for having me! ♥ And of course to you, reading this! ♥ Enjoy your Second Life and take a look at these wonderful and arty locations!
