LiThO – the tiny art(ist) Café celebrates its first anniversary!
LiThO – is an adaption of the owner and founder names of this place (Lizzy & Tom) and the wording Lithography, which stands for the oldest flat printing process and was invented in 1798 by the German Alois Senefelder. It was one of the most widely used printing techniques for colored printed matter in the 19th century. Artists such as Francisco de Goya, Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso were also fascinated by the technical possibilities. Joan Miró also proved to be a sovereign master of lithographic techniques.
This Café and tiny Gallery Space was the first collaboration project by Tom and me. I was wandering in Second Life’s Art scene for a while already and enjoyed it very much as brought it closer to Tom. After a while we decided to open our own little space to give all kind of visual Artists the chance to exhibit their work. Soon it was clear that it should be in Café-Style and should fit into the mainland community of the Corsica South Coasters. We both love creating places, organizing events and stuff and support all kind of events. So the decision was not hard to make and the plans grow. A space near my =little Whiskeria= got free and we took the chance!
It was in September 2023 as we opened the Café with the very first exhibition called „Landscapes“ by Michiel Bechier. It was such a nice Opening Party and a lot of friends and art enthusiasts joined us! Inara visited the first exhibition and mentioned it in her blog – thanks a lot for this! ♥ It’s now more than a year ago and we are so happy that this Café is still alive and a lot of visitors regularly enjoy the art and scenery provided here.
LiThO – the tiny Art(ist) Cafè is not just a gallery space – the decoration, Coffee & Cakes change with the seasons. Also we try to support the Artist’s works with the scenerey. So everytime you come back, you might discover something new. Try it out and take the Taxi! 😉
